Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-21

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store on your device. On each later visit the browser sends them back, letting the site “remember” something — that you are signed in, say, or that you have already seen a notice. A session cookie is deleted when you close the browser; a persistent one stays until it expires or you delete it.

Other technologies play a similar role, such as local storage (localStorage). The key difference: localStorage is never sent to a server — it stays on your device only. Where we write “cookies” below, we mean both.

How this works on the nisōs website

The site is static and purely informational: no forms, accounts, basket or online bookings. It sets no cookies of its own — not one. Specifically:

  • We use no tracking, advertising, targeting or remarketing cookies. We build no user profiles and pass no data to ad networks.
  • We use no Google Analytics, Google Ads or Google Tag Manager. Aggregate traffic statistics (Vercel Web Analytics) are measured without cookies and without a persistent device identifier, which is why they require no consent.
  • There are no session cookies, because there is no sign-in and no application server holding a session.
  • We embed no YouTube videos, “like” buttons, social pixels or external fonts — our fonts are self-hosted.
  • The only third party that can ever set a cookie is Google, and only if you load the map on the contact page.

Categories of cookies

Cookie policies usually sort cookies into the categories below. We list all four, with exactly what applies to us:

CategoryDo we use them? What it means
Strictly necessaryNoSupport core functions such as navigation and security. Our site works fully without any.
Preferences / functionalityNoRemember choices such as language. Ours is set by the page address (/en/), not by a cookie.
Statistics / analyticsNoMeasure how the site is used. We measure in aggregate and without cookies.
Marketing / targetingNoServe targeted advertising. We show no advertising anywhere.
Third party (Google map)Only with your consentSet by Google when — and only if — you load the map.

What is stored on your device

The complete list. There is nothing else:

Third-party cookies

The map on the contact page is loaded from Google. Until you load it, your browser does not contact Google at all: a plain placeholder panel with a button stands in its place, and no request leaves. Once you load it, Google may process your IP address and set its own cookies, under its policy — not ours.

No other third party reaches your device. Links to Instagram or press coverage are plain links: they load nothing until you click them and leave our site.

Your consent, and how to withdraw it

On your first visit a notice appears with two equally weighted choices, “Accept” and “Decline”. Neither is pre-selected, and nothing loads while you have not answered.

If you accept, the map loads directly each time you visit the contact page. If you decline, the placeholder stays — you can still open the map with one click for that visit, should you need it. Declining restricts no other part of the site.

You can change your mind at any time, as easily as you gave consent:

Your choice has been cleared — the notice is showing again.

Control from your browser

Independently of us, every browser lets you block or delete cookies, ask to be warned before one is stored, or clear them automatically on exit. Blocking all cookies degrades many websites — but not ours, which works normally without any.

Changes and contact

If we ever add a feature that requires cookies (online bookings, say), we will update this policy and the consent notice first. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.

Cookies & map

This site uses no tracking cookies. If you accept, the Google map loads directly on the contact page — Google may then set its own cookies. Learn more
